The goal of any aspiring artist should be to master drawing real subjects, but there are often challenges that make it hard. By breaking the image into smaller sections, it becomes easier to focus on the details in that area. Second, by not knowing the subject, the artist doesn't know if it is a subject they think they can draw or not. When creating this resource, a real photograph was used as the starting point. Some activities use an image that has been redrawn and stylized, losing a lot of detail. By using a photograph, all the complex visual information is preserved and helps create a more realistic drawing.
